Natural Playscape

Marewa has a strong association with the environment. We are an enviro accredited school and have developed a natural play-scape that the children 
love to interact with. This is an ongoing project as we look for new ways to make it even better.

Each class has their own raised garden bed to look after and we also have several large vegetable patches that the children look after. Our school chickens, which the students look after, provide free range eggs which are then sold through the office. We have also developed an outdoor cooking area where classes
can practice their skills outdoors.

We try to incorporate a science focus into some of our rich learning so that the students develop respect and knowledge about the environment.
This teaches the students valuable skills and supports our core value of respect.
